A Look at the week ahead

One of the blogs I love to read is Rockin' Granola, and she recently started doing a Sneak Peek at her week, posting her plans for the week ahead.  I like it, so I thought I'd do the same ...

Here's a peek inside my plans for this week:

 What else?

The Hippie will choose quotes for copywork on three days and write a letter to someone on the fourth day.  She will also do a Mad Lib (for grammar practice), a Mindbender (for logic), circle parts of speech on sentences I've typed up, do a word search (for reading/spelling practice), continue reading Caddie Woodlawn and peruse the book basket.

The Princess will hear a Fairy Tale of her choosing read to her, practice writing her number words and work with number word flash cards until she can recognize each number word and write the numbers 1 to 10 in her math MLB.

Both girls will do all applicable practice pages in their Singapore Math workbooks and will peruse the book basket at their leisure.  What's in the book basket this week?  Math and number themes, of course:
  • How Much is A Million? by David M. Schwartz
  • Sunny Numbers: A Florida Counting Book by Carol Crane
  • Counting on the Woods a poem by George Ella Lyon
  • Mother Goose Rhymes Counting Your Way Number Nursery Rhymes
  • Zero is the Leaves on the Tree by Betsy Franco
  • Prayers for a Better World by Sophie Piper
There you have it.  A peek at our week to come.  I hope it is fun, relaxed and productive.  We are starting back slowly, easing in.  I will be adding a little bit as we move along ... once we get going, we'll add more to the 2nd grade boxes, artist and composer study, spelling, art and more ...

Next week ~ Earth Day and Ants!!!
