To commemorate finishing our recent bedtime read-aloud, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, we enjoyed a nice family night of build-your-own-pizza and a movie last night. I know it's not exactly like Lewis Carroll's version, but we decided to watch the newer Disney one with Johnny Depp in it. The girls fixed their own pizzas and we watched the movie on the couch with popcorn. It was actually a really great version! Here are a few shots of our evening.
If you're wondering how to make these yourself, they are super easy and your kids will love to make their own!
Build-your-own-pita-pizza
Whole Wheat Pita Bread
Crushed Tomatoes with Basil
Dash of Garlic Powder, Oregano and Red Pepper Flakes
Your Favorite Toppings ~ We used spinach, natural black olives, mushrooms (that I sauteed in butter with a pinch of Sea Salt first), purple onion, bell pepper and tomato
Shredded Mozzarella
Parmesan
Looks yummy! I especially loved the pic of the girls lying on the counter! :) Too cute!!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness...that looks SO yummy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks guys. It is ... and SO easy. We do it all the time. Much simpler than making pizza dough. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the idea of having a party after finishing a book...with something connected to the book! I enjoyed Depp in the Chocolate Factory...maybe I'll watch this one with my hubby.
ReplyDeleteThis really was a good movie! They did a nice retelling ~ of course they changed it up, but it was done really well!
ReplyDeleteI have really been enjoying your blog. I too am trying to find a way to combine CM - who I LOVE - with a more Waldorfy feel. It will be an adventure. We start home schooling 1st grade in the fall. I home schooled my boys with Ambleside Online and House of Education - love them but don't really want to have to do all the work again. It looks to me as though you live in FL somewhere but I haven't figured it out. I live in S FL - down near Ft. Lauderdale and would love to have the support of other like-minded moms that you seem to have. You have inspired me to try to create a Handwork group too. Thanks for making my day...Cathy PS - love your Home Verse!!
